Transported After School Martial Arts (TASMA) FAQs
What is TASMA?
This is a week-to-week program providing a constructive alternative to daycare, extended day at school or babysitting. This program was developed and copyrighted by Shihan Jim King in 1998. We are a licensed TASMA school.
Why choose TASMA?
To give your child an alternative option to daycare. Our martial arts program will teach: exercise, discipline, respect, manners, self defense and self esteem through earning belt ranks. These newly acquired attributes will carry over into their school work and home life.
How can I register my child?
You can register your child using our online registration or you can call us at 860-767-1014.
How will my child get there?
We will transport children to Valley Shore Martial Arts from local elementary and middle schools.
Do I have to sign a contract?
We have no contracts. (Payments must be paid the Thursday prior to week attending)
Do I have to pay even if my child is sick or unable to attend?
If you have prepaid for a week and your child becomes ill and only attends one or two days, we will credit the unused portion of that week to the next week. If you do not attend a week, you will not be charged.
What will my child be doing?
We have physical games with instructor supervision before class. We also have one quiet room for board games and optional homework before and after class. We are a licensed martial arts school and not a daycare or a tutor. Children may eat a snack before class. Classes will be each weekday.
What time can I pick up my child?
You may pick up your child from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on the way home from work instead of daycare.
What does my child need to bring?
They will need to come prepared to learn each day and must bring their uniform for class.
